Known to many of his fans as the boss, Jersey boy Bruce Springsteen was born on September 23, 1949. Often hailed as a working man's rock 'n roll star, Springsteen's music is often inspired by the American way of life, and his home state of New Jersey.
Best known for his albums "Born To Run" and "Born In The USA," Springsteen is also well known as one of the more politically active musicians on the scene. He has also been generous with his support of various rebuilding and relief efforts in his home state and other areas, as well as for his album entitled "The Rising," which was inspired by the events of September 11, 2001.
Springsteen holds numerous awards including a total of 19 Grammy awards two Golden globes as well as an Academy Award. He continues touring with his "E Street Band" and has sold more than 65 million albums in the United States and 120 million albums around the world.
